This live performance was filmed on the 16th March 2007 on the stage of the Pretoria State Theatre in South Africa during second SPBT`s tour of South Africa.

Swan Lake with Irina Kolesnikova on the stage of Royal Albert Hall on 26th November is already SOLD OUT

After the beautiful experience of SPBT’s debut in the historical Theatre Champs Elysees in Paris, and a wonderfully warm response from the Paris audience, Irina had no idea what to expect for her first visit to Cardiff. There is only one word ……… AMAZING.



Cardiff Millennium Centre is a state of the art 21st century building, impressive on the outside and spectacular on the inside, and with a magnificent stage for dance. In the UK it is not often that SPBT have such a great stage to display their lovely sets, but this was perfection. The performance was excellent and the audience was ecstatic.

`It is difficult to express in words the wonder of Irina Kolesnikova’s ability. Yes, the rest of the company can dance, but Irina moved her body with such emotion that it brought a tear to the eye. As Odette she was fragile, fluid, as the evil substitute Odile – Von Rothbart’s daughter – she was proud and strong. In both roles she filled each movement to its limit and not beyond, with poise and precision that was a joy to watch…



If you have never seen a ballet, this one will spoil you for life. If Swan Lake is an old favourite, take it from this fan, you’ll not regret shelling out for yet another ticket.

Irina is talking about returning to WMC for two nights.

On 17th October 2007 Irina made her Paris debut on the legendary stage of the Theatre des Champs Elysees in SPBT`s Swan Lake.





Her performance as Odette-Odile was announced by her own name and all tickets were sold out some weeks before St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre arrived in Paris.





And all expectations of the performance by the Parisian public were met. At the end was ovation after ovation and five curtain calls.





State TV RUSSIA crew was there to witness this great success of SPBT, and the Director of Theatre des Champs Elysees, Francis Lepigeon, said in a recorded interview after the performance "It was the best Swan Lake on this stage for many years and Irina Kolesnikova was born a star. Although she was not discovered in Paris, Paris will love her for a very very long time.” Vesti Peterburg reports

On 14th and 15th October 2007 on the stage of Glasgow Royal Concert Hall Irina danced the lead roles in the Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. It was the second visit in Glasgow this year by the ballerina after her very successful January debut.





Unfortunately, problems with the Hall’s lighting supply occurred during Black Swan Pas de deux and throughout the second Act, which seriously affected Irina’s dancing and did not give the audience the opportunity to enjoy SPBT’s Swan Lake at its best.





Irina apologises for these problems and is not planning to return to Royal Concert Hall again.

Now Irina is traveling to Glasgow where she will dance Swan Lake and Nutcracker on the stage of the magnificent Royal Concert Hall on 14th and 15th October.



Doctors are still not allowing her to use a plane, so she is going to Scotland by train.

Quite a long trip!

Irina has returned from Paris where she took place in Gala “Stars of 21st Century”



She was very happy be part of this event.



Unfortunately, for health reasons, Irina had to cancel her performance of the Black Swan pas de deux and performed only Scheherazade. Irina apologises to the audience for this cancellation.



Very soon on IK CLUB more information will appear.



However, Irina Kolesnikova will dance the role of Odette/Odile in SPBT`s Swan Lake on 17th October in Paris on the stage of the Theatre des Champs Elysees. All tickets are already sold out.

In late June, at the behest of the organisers of The Henley Festival of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Irina flew into London for a press conference and photo-shoot in order to promote the forthcoming event.



The festival will take place from 31st August to 2nd September in the open air on a picturesque part of the Thames, and Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre’s Swan Lake with Irina Kolesnikova dancing Odette – Odile is a most eagerly awaited event. The City of Oxford Orchestra will be providing the orchestral accompaniment. Forty six metre wide screens will be set up so that members of the audience who are sitting a long way from the stage can watch the ballet.

On the 16th July, on the stage of the Pretoria State Theatre in South Africa a recording of the ballet “Giselle” was made for DVD with Irina Kolesnikova in the lead role.



The DVD should come out in mid June.



The part of Albert was danced by Dmitriy Akulinin, that of Hans by Dymchik Saykeev and Mirta by Yuliya Petrova. From the 1st September the DVD will be on sale in the Royal Opera House shop in Covent Garden.
